Who We Are
AEDs for Athletes is a youth-led nonprofit dedicated to building a culture of preparedness through CPR, AED, and emergency response education in youth sports.

Sudden cardiac arrest is the leading cause of death in young athletes.

Most Sudden Cardiac Arrest events happen during high school practices.

Bystander CPR and AED use more than double survival rates.
During a tournament, my teammate collapsed—no warning, no pulse. We froze, not knowing what to do. By sheer luck, she survived. What haunted us was how unprepared we were. Not long after, I saw the world respond to Damar Hamlin’s collapse. CPR started immediately, an AED was on hand, and he lived because they were ready. In high school sports, we often aren’t. That’s why we started AEDs for Athletes: to put life-saving equipment in every gym, field, and stage, and train every coach and teammate in CPR.
Our mission: To make sure the next time, we're ready—not lucky.
